Proud Parenting, version 2.0

Indulge me a little as I brag on my kids. Since parenting and launching is part of this whole cruising prep thing, at least for us - we’ve taken the kids on a few cruises with us and have told them they’re welcome to join us at vacation times, but it’s time for them to be off on their own a bit.

Bee just graduated from high school, crossing the stage in style and with grace. Their passions are people, Shakespeare, art, and cats. Watching Bee explore everything in the world is such fun.

Julian just finished his freshman year at George Mason University. He’s in the Scharr School of Government there and is taking full advantage of the proximity to DC. He landed himself a paid internship in Senator Mark Warner’s office for the first part of the summer; I went with some friends and had him give us a tour of the Capitol (this is considered constituent services! I highly recommend it!)

We’re so proud of our kids. They’re growing up to be caring, compassionate, capable people. Are there bumps in the road? Sure - everyone is human. They’re their own people. This, to us, is the prime definition of proud parenting.

Watch out world. They’re coming for you.
